SMIT has created 25% of the country's IT solutions. Our goal is to ensure the security of the people of Estonia.
The solutions created by SMIT help people working in homeland security do their jobs more efficiently.
We are a 24/7 support for the emergency center, rescue, police and border guard. Our personal data is stored in the population register and we can perform operations quickly and conveniently.
Contact us when you cross the border while traveling, register your child's birth in the population register, call 112, apply for an ID card, or vote e-voting.
The emergency number, the border guard information system, the crisis hotline, and the population register are some examples of our work.
Working at SMIT is of great importance – the security of Estonian people depends on us. We also cooperate internationally (Schengen Information System, EU)

For us, IT is not just about writing code. We develop and maintain systems that support the work of police officers, rescue workers, and emergency responders. We also provide support to the Estonian National Security Academy and the Ministry of the Interior. So this work has a very big impact.
